About Us

 

Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics was established in 2001, as the first full time practice, in the East Valley, dedicated to Children's Orthopaedics, the care of growing bones and joints.  We remain dedicated to making kids' orthopaedics as close and convenient as we can to our patients and our loyal referring Primary Care Pediatric practices; in Gilbert we are next door to Mercy Gilbert and the new Phoenix Children's campus, and in Scottsdale we are near HonorHealth Shea.

Our primary focus is the care of fractures or broken bones in the growing child and adolescent.  We also provide consultation for certain disorders of growth and development of the bones and joints.  The anatomic or body parts we work with include the spine, upper limbs from shoulders through hands/fingers, and the lower limbs, from the hips through the feet. 

We strive to provide Family-centric Orthopaedic care: we don't just focus on the injury or disorder, but what the clinical condition means to the whole patient.  Social development stages, school, recreational/sports pursuits, and the patient's family life are all taken into consideration in developing a care plan for any patient. You might hear Dr. Hrasky and our Physician Assistants talk about the "personality of a fracture," as we treat not just the physical break or deformity of the bone, but consider the place of this injury in the big picture of a youngster's life.

Our primary clinical team is comprised of Dr. Greg Hrasky, Trent Tipton, PA-C, and Sarah Bolander, PA-C.  We are a small, tight, cohesive team, and we hope you enjoy the fact that each office visit will be with a familiar and highly competent Provider.  Communication and cooperation is key to our clinical work; we strive to be transparent and thorough.  We communicate with your child's Primary Care Providers, other Specialists in Orthopaedics and other fields, to create the best treatment plan. Parents will always receive the results of medical tests, advanced imaging, or lab studies from one of our 3 Providers in a timely fashion.

We are blessed to be highly regarded by our medical peers. Dr. Hrasky and the Practice have received the peer voted Top Doc Award from Phoeinxs Magazine numerous times, and we were the Top Voted Practice in 2021, our twentieth year of existence!  Dr. Hrasky has had a 10 year tenure as Chief of Orthopaedics at Banner Desert and Banner Children's Hospital.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the IPO Board of Innovation Care Partners and he is the Vice President of the Arizona Orthopaedic Society. 

Education, giving back and forward, are an integral part of our history.  Young employees have come through our practice as a stepping stone to medical careers.  Past employees are now in the medical community as a Pediatrician, a Surgeon, and five Physician Assistants!

Many of our Front and Back Office Staff have been with us for over 10 years. Parents of our patients often comment on our great communication, timeliness, transparency, and vibe of "working as a family."
